The recent take-down of the AlphaV Command and Control network has dealt a major blow to the ransomware industry, and has send a wave of panic through the remaining gangs.
In my 20th December post about the take-down, I noted that the LockBit gang was worried that they would be next on the hit list for global law enforcement entities. Now it seems like the two gangs are mulling over the idea of joining forces in an attempt to stay running their illegal operations.
Messages between the two gangs on Social media seem to indicate that there is a mutual respect and a possible collaboration in the making.

2024 might see an even bigger number of ransomware attacks – we will wait to see what the new year brings
