Using information stolen in the attack, the threat actors have started to email students, warning that their data will soon be leaked to the dark web after an extortion demand was not paid.

The threat actors claim to have stolen the data during a June 6th cyberattack and list some of the information taken:

  • Confidential personal information from students and staff
  • Research data
  • Medical data
  • Police reports
  • Drug test results
  • Databases
  • HR documents
  • Finance documents

The email also goes on to name numerous faculty members who the ransomware gang say have refused to cooperate, and as such are at fault fir the data being leaked.
