I very much doubt that anyone following my blogs has not heard of the massive breach which has impacted hundreds of organisations worldwide which was carried out by the Cl0p ransomware gang.

I posted a brief account of Cl0p on the 19th of this month, but stayed away from posting about the victims as it was obvious that the breach was in its early days and lots of updates would inevitably follow.

I naturally keep my eye on the news regarding events like this and almost daily, I see updates about more companies being hit by this huge cyber attack. Either the companies themselves announce the news, or Cl0p announce the breach on their dark web leak site.

Personally, I visit their site once a week to see examine the every-growing list and am amazed by the breadth of organisations hit with this breach.

The Cl0p leaks site shows a number of archive lists where they link to the data leaks they are hosting. When I first visited the site (about 1 week after the breaches were announced) there were only 2 archive lists with approximately 30 named organisations. Visiting today shows 5 archive lists with over 300 named organisations.

One of the latest organisations to say they have fallen victim to the Cl0p attack is the New York City Department of Education which has identified that approx. 45,000 students have been impacted in their breach which saw over 19,000 files stolen.
