A group of gay furry hackers working under the name SiegedSec have been targeting various organisations across the globe, in many cases leaving messages about trans-rights.

The details of their attacks are regularly posted on their Telegram channel with links to the leaked data, and comments as to why they targeted the organisation.

Some recent attacks have included US state departments which have passed legislation with laws deemed to be against those in the trans community

Late June saw the group target the state departments of Texas, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and South Carolina.

In one attack, the government in Fort Worth, Texas, was relieved of over 180GB of data in retaliation to the state recently passing laws banning gender affirming care.

So far in 2023, Texas legislators have introduced 65 anti-trans bills, according to the Trans Legislation Tracker, four of which have passed. One of the laws bars children from receiving any kind of care “intended to transition a child’s biological sex.”

South Carolina’s legislators have introduced 25 similar laws, one of which aims to prevent gender-affirming care for minors.

Pennsylvania has introduced 3 laws , one of which limits trans students’ participation in public school sports.

South Dakota and Nebraska’s legislators have each introduced 5 anti-trans bills, and have currently passed one bill each. Both states passed bills prohibiting gender-affirming care for minors.
